    European Automation Partnership Project

This project is now finished after two years and we now know that the partner schools has improved their quality of their courses in automation and has adjusted the education to ECVET with the aim to reach a standardized EU level. The ambition has been to design a course for the European Automation Operator. The end product is a teacher’s guide with instructions and materials to the whole course. During this partnership project, we have elaborate and tested a concept developed by the EURIAC Leonardo development project. They have made an inventory where 48 manufacturing companies have defined the competence needs of an automation operator. Based on this, the EURIAC project has described, with ECVET terminology, 4 training modules for VET. The modules are: Working with FMS (Flexible Manufacturing Systems), Working with Motor Controllers, Working with Analogue Signals, Working with safety Systems. In this project each partner school have been responsible for teaching one whole module to a group of international students from the partner schools. Teachers have shared and discussed materials, methods and planning during the whole project. All materials have been in English and collected in a teacher's file. So at the end of the project, a teacher of automation will have a teacher’s guide and materials to all the modules in the European automation course. Each module have been evaluated carefully so that best practice can be described. The teachers have learned from each other and developed their skills and competence. The students have got the possibility to travel, meet students from other countries, practice their English and learn automation in a European concept. The mobility experience have been improved their self confidence and made them more open minded and hopefully more mobile in the future.

Teachers Handbook - EAPP-European Automation Partnership Project describe four different modules of teaching Automation in Upper Secondary School. All modules has been developed, tested and evaluated by the partners in the project. It is possible to perform parts of, or the hole course described in the handbook. The contents is adjusted to ECVET-terminology to reach an European standard of education and evaluation.
