Active Citizenship for Seniors and Juniors share via web radio

“Active Citizenship for Seniors and Juniors Share via Web Radio” (ACT for Share) aimed to promote a healthy exchange between generations and to foster mutual respect between them and valued the knowledge of senior citizens especially that of retired ones, so that the wealth of personal experience acquired is not lost; it also aimed to improve their quality of life while ageing actively. "ACT for Share" focussed on a transfer of knowledge to the young, especially those without work, so they would acquire new skills (expecially soft skills) through interactions with seniors): 1. Through the implementation of different activities in various modalities for seniors and juniors. 2. Through radio programmes gathering juniors and seniors so that they could debate different topics. In each country 13 shows in national languages were broadcast. The subjects discussed in the radio shows were: international relations, role of women, discrimination, holiday, sustainability (food), childhood and youth, EU identity (and migrations), ecology, can we change the world (active citizenship, voluntary work etc.), local music and culture, safe use of internet and privacy, leisure time, learning / education. 3. During visits to partner organisations, round tables were organised to debate topics from different generational perspectives on international level. We would like to conclude this summary with what was said during one of the radio shows: Miklavž, what is you message for the elderly generation? “Well… That they would know that also we, young people, are often right, and that we are grateful to them for what they would try to tell us. Although we often refuse it because usually they communicate it to us in old fashioned way which we a priori refuse because we think that something was the way they see it back in the past and that today everything is different.”
