In the Year of Active Ageing the idea of Co-ELDERLY is to discuss - at EU level - ways, methodologies and practices to “convert” elderly people with low mobility from “care-bearers” to “care-givers”, from patients to actors of their own life. The main aim of Co-EldeRly is to encourage the emancipation and reactivation of elderly people with low mobility in the society through the implementation of new forms of community living taking care of their specific needs. The objective is to develop, through a multi-country and multi-skilled Partnership (Co-housing/Social housing Networks, Social enterprises, NGOs, Foundations from 6 EU countries), new tools and skills targeting elders-care social enterprises managers, co-housing/social housing insiders, elders with the scope of a unique model combining – with an intergenerational, self-decision-making, integrated, mutual learning approach – both elders home-care and community/social housing dimension. The Co-EldeRly learning partnership - through mobilities and related desk research involving elders (learners) as well as managers/insiders (staff-trainers) - will deliver the following main outcomes: 1) A business plan for Social Housing/Co-housing for elders with low mobility; 2) an info-training model for managers/insiders of Social housing/Co-housing communities for elderly people with low mobility; 3) Guidelines for the start-up of Social Housing/Cohousing elderly communities. The project have a 2 year duration and will be composed of two main phases: 1. the collection and exchange of info, materials, good practices among partners concerning elders with low mobility and housing; 2. the draft and refinement of the info-training model and related Guidelines for managers/insiders of social enterprises/co-housing experiences.
