COOPERATIVE LEARNING USING NEW MEDIA, teenagers in action on Web Radio and TV - A new pedagogical approach to an integrated Europe

The project's goal is the creation of an international web-based student TV and Radio station. The station will be implemented and run by teenagers from different European countries. The Web TV, Web Radio, and PODCAST, will broadcast clips and programs prepared by students for students with the possible help of skilled local TV personnel. The focus of the programs will be on foreign languages, environmental issues, teenage problems, different aspects of cultures and traditions, theatre, music and ICT skills. Each school will have a basic group of students that will be directly responsible for the web TV while a second group will be responsible for the creation of programs. Both groups will be supported by a teacher. For each school, other students will have the chance to have an impact on the content of the material produced by providing general feedback. The produced clips will be published on the coordinator’s web site. The partnership includes schools that give their students specialized ICT education, thus these students can easily implement the idea. Nevertheless, for schools where such specialized education is not provided, external help can be provided by other participating schools. The project involves European countries whose citizens have different origins and cultures. This is our main advantage. We would like to use this diversity to broaden our own horizons and capabilities, therewith transforming our partnership into a powerful initiative.
