The project GLAD was created to develop an innovative vocational training course, based in a peer educational method to encourage and stimulate young people to set up business and remain in the rural areas. The partnership brought together 6 European countries with a diverse range of rural conditions, different actors and stakeholders directly involved in rural development: enterprises, no profit, educational trainers, colleges, public bodies and policy makers.Throug a use of a questionnaire, each partner identified best practices and described their rural area.During the visits, the partnership staff and trainees had the opportunity to know better the different European agricultural realities issues, meet success farmers, compare different experiences. To summarize through the surveys, meetings, discussions and visits, we identified what knowledge and skills are required by young people to become successful business people, allowing them to assist in revitalization of the local rural economy. These include marketing, management, diversification, innovation, green economy, bureaucracy, finance, public funds and, not less important, personal skills. We realized an e-handbook to illustrate youth rural enterprises situation and best practices in each country. The Glad project highlighted the importance of training and transfer of knowledge and information to improve the rural businesses modernization and development to achieve competitiveness and sustainability. To reduce carbon footprint impact we opted to use websites, Skype, moodle platform as instruments to communicate within the partnership and to disseminate project results. The project was originally a the first step towads a TOI project, but as these are no longer available, we have decided to develop via alternative European funds. During the project we have other opportunities and discussed many idea to continue working together, creating new projects together, providing opportunities for youngsters
