Our Voices across Europe
The main idea of this project is to develop knowledge and understanding among young people of the diversity of European cultures through music. We believe that young people gain self confidence in expressing themselves and integrate their personality into social life better when they are involved in music. Music is the shared language that breaks down prejudice and bias. The objective of our project mainly concerns with the idea of making people aware of this shared language as a means of getting to know each other, helping young people acquire the basic life skills and competences necessary for their personal development for future employment and for active European citizenship. First, we will focus on sharing our own cultures through each country's blogs and our common website, through activities which will be held during the first year of exchanges. Then, we will start focusing on the two pillars of our project which are folk music and pop rock music. Each country will share its musical heritage through different activities. Also, we aim to focus on pop rock music in the decades from 1950s to 2000s in the UK and in the USA and their reflection in our own history and social life. Through the activities our pupils will be able to discover the connection between folk music and popular music in the global sense. Project meetings will be held in each country with secondary students aged 14-17, many of whom come from disadvantaged families with little income. They will share the common language, English, through music and they will have the chance to spread their voices across Europe.

La idea principal de este proyecto es desarrollar el conocimiento y el entendimiento entre los jóvenes pertenecientes a diversas culturas europeas a través de la música. Consideramos que los jóvenes ganan en seguridad a la hora de expresarse e integrar su personalidad en su vida social de mejor manera cuando se implican a través de la música. La música es la lengua común que rompe prejuicios y estereotipos. El objetivo principal de nuestro proyecto consiste en conseguir que nuestros alumnos lleguen a ser conscientes de esta lengua común como medio de conocer a otras personas, y de esta manera contribuir a la adquisición de las habilidades y competencias necesarias para desenvolverse en su futuro empleo en pro de una ciudadanía europea activa. Primero nos concentraremos en compartir nuestra propias culturas a través de los blogs de cada país y de la página web del proyecto, así como de las actividades que se llevarán a cabo durante el primer año del proyecto. A partir de entonces nos concentraremos en los dos pilares de nuestro proyecto que son, por un lado la música tradicional y por otro la música pop rock. Cada país compartirá su bagaje musical a través a diferentes actividades. También pretendemos centrarnos en la música pop rock desde los años 1950 hasta la actualidad tanto en el Reino Unido como en los EEUU, y su influencia en nuestra propia historia y contexto social. A través de las actividades propuestas nuestros alumnos podrán descubrir la conexión que existe entre la música tradicional y la popular moderna en un sentido más global. Se llevarán a cabo diversos encuentros en cada país con alumnos de secundaria de edades comprendidas entre los 14 y los 17 años, muchos de los cuales provienen de familias desfavorecidas y con recursos limitados. Podrán compartir una lengua común, el inglés, a través de la música y así tener la oportunidad de difundir sus voces por Europa.

Bu projenin ana fikri gençlerin müzik aracılığıyla Avrupa kültürlerinin çeşitliliği hakkında bilgi edinmeleri ve anlamalarıdır.İnanıyoruz ki gençler müzikle iç içe olduklarında kendilerini ifade etmekte ve kişiliklerini sosyal hayata daha iyi bir şekilde adapte etmekte kendilerine daha çok güvenecekler. Müzik ön yargıları ve hükümleri kırabilen tek ortak dildir.Projemizin amacı, esas olarak gençlerin birbirlerini tanımak, gelecekteki iş imkanları ve aktif Avrupa vatandaşlığında gereken kişisel gelişimleri için temel yaşam beceri ve yeterliliğini kazanmak için bu ortak dil hakkında bilgi edinmelerini sağlamaktır. İlk olarak, her ülkeye ait bloglarda ve ortak web sayfamızda ilk yıl yapılan değişimlerde gerçekleştirilen etkinlikleri paylaşmaya yoğunlaşacağız. Daha sonra projemizin iki temel noktası olan halk müziği ve pop rock müziği üzerinde duracağız.Her ülke kendi müzik mirasını değişik etkinliklerle paylaşacak.Ayrıca, 1950 lerden 2000 lere kadar İngiltere ve Amerika'daki pop rock müziğe ve bunların kendi tarihimize ve sosyal hayatımıza yansımalarına da yer vereceğiz.Yapılan etkinliklerle öğrencilerimiz halk müziği ile popüler müziğin arasındaki bağlantıyı küresel anlamda keşfedebilecekler. Proje toplantıları ortak ülkelerin her birinde çoğunluğu gelir düzeyi düşük ailelerden gelen 14-17 yaş arası orta öğretim öğrencileriyle yapılacaktır.Ortak dil olarak İngilizceyi konuşacaklar ve müzik yoluyla seslerini Avrupa'da yayma imkanı bulacaklardır.

Ideea de bază a acestui proiect este de a dezvolta cunoștințele și înțelegerea în rândul tinerilor privind diversitatea culturilor Europene prin muzică. Noi credem că tinerii câștiga încrederea de sine în a se exprima și integrarea personalității lor în viața socială este mai bună atunci când sunt implicați în muzică. Muzica este limbajul comun care dărâmă prejudecățile și răutățile. Obiectivul proiectului nostru se referă în principal la ideea de a face pe oameni conștienți de acest limbaj comun ca un mijloc de a ne cunoaște unii pe alții, ajutând tinerii să dobândească competențele de bază ale vieții și competențele necesare pentru dezvoltarea lor personală pentru ocuparea forței de muncă în viitor și pentru o cetățenie Europeană activă. În primul rând, ne vom concentra pe schimbul de valori culturale prin intermediul blogului fiecărei țări și site-ului nostru comun, prin activitățile care vor avea loc în cursul primului an de experiențe. Η κύρια ιδέα αυτού του έργου ήταν η ανάπτυξη της γνώσης και της κατανόησης μεταξύ των νέων από την ποικιλομορφία των ευρωπαϊκών πολιτισμών μέσω της μουσικής. Πιστεύουμε ότι οι νέοι άνθρωποι να αποκτήσουν αυτοπεποίθηση να εκφραστούν και να ενσωματώσουν την προσωπικότητά τους στην κοινωνική ζωή καλύτερα όταν εμπλέκονται στη μουσική. Η μουσική είναι η κοινή γλώσσα που σπάει τις προκαταλήψεις και την βια. Ο στόχος του έργου μας αφορά κυρίως την ιδέα να κάνει τους ανθρώπους επίγνωση αυτής της κοινής γλώσσας ως μέσο για να γνωρίσουν ο ένας τον άλλο, βοηθώντας τους νέους να αποκτήσουν τις βασικές δεξιότητες της ζωής και των ικανοτήτων που είναι απαραίτητες για την προσωπική τους ανάπτυξη για την μελλοντική τους απασχόληση και για την ενεργή συμμετοχή του Ευρωπαίου ιθαγενής. Πρώτον, έχουμε επικεντρωθεί στην ανταλλαγή δική μας πολιτισμούς μέσα από τα blogs κάθε χώρας και την κοινή μας ιστοσελίδα, μέσα από τις δραστηριότητες που πραγματοποιήθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια του πρώτου έτους των ανταλλαγών. Στη συνέχεια, αρχίσαμε με επίκεντρο τους δύο πυλώνες του σχεδίου μας, η οποία ήταν λαϊκή μουσική ποπ και ροκ μουσικής. Κάθε χώρα μοιράζονται μουσική κληρονομιά της μέσα από διάφορες δραστηριότητες. Επίσης, έχουμε ως στόχο να επικεντρωθεί σε ποπ ροκ μουσική από τις δεκαετίες από το 1950 έως 2000 στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και στις ΗΠΑ και τον προβληματισμό τους για τη δική μας ιστορία και την κοινωνική ζωή. Μέσα από τις δραστηριότητες, οι μαθητές μας ήταν σε θέση να ανακαλύψουν τη σχέση μεταξύ folk μουσική και λαϊκή μουσική στην παγκόσμια αίσθηση. Συναντήσεις του έργου έγιναν σε κάθε χώρα με μαθητές της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, ηλικίας 14-17, πολλοί από τους οποίους προέρχονται από άπορες οικογένειες με χαμηλό εισόδημα. Μοιράστηκαν μια κοινή γλώσσα, αγγλικά, μέσα από τη μουσική και είχαν την ευκαιρία να διαδώσουν τις φωνές τους σε όλη την Ευρώπη.

L'idea principale di questo progetto è quello di sviluppare la conoscenza e la comprensione tra i giovani della diversità delle culture europee attraverso la musica. Noi crediamo che i giovani acquisiscono fiducia in se stessi, di esprimere se stessi, e integrano la loro personalità nella vita sociale nel modo migliore quando sono coinvolti nella musica. La musica è il linguaggio comune che abbatte pregiudizi e prevenzioni. L'obiettivo del nostro progetto riguarda principalmente l'idea di rendere le persone consapevoli di questo linguaggio comune come mezzo per arrivare a conoscere l'altro, aiutare i giovani ad acquisire le competenze di vita e le competenze necessarie per il loro sviluppo personale che permette loro di trovare facilmente un lavoro e per l'attiva cittadinanza europea. In primo luogo, ci si concentrerà sulla condivisione delle nostre culture attraverso i blog di ogni paese e il nostro sito web comune, attraverso attività che si terranno durante il primo anno di scambi. In secondo luogo, ci concentreremo su due pilastri del nostro progetto, che sono la musica folk e pop rock. Ogni paese condividerà il suo patrimonio musicale attraverso diverse attività. Inoltre, ci proponiamo di concentrarsi sulla musica pop rock nei decenni dal 1950 al 2000 nel Regno Unito e negli Stati Uniti e il loro riflesso nella nostra storia e nella vita sociale. Attraverso le attività i nostri studenti saranno in grado di scoprire la connessione tra musica folk e la musica popolare in senso globale.

Κάθε χώρα έπρεπε να παράγει ένα στίχο για την Ύμνο του προγράμματος μας. Μετά την δημιουργία όλων των στίχων, η Ελληνική ομάδα έκανε την σύνθεση του ύμνου. Κάθε couplet έχει μια μουσική που ταιριάζει με την ιδιαιτερότητα της κάθε χώρας μουσική. Traditional dances worshops
In these workshops both the students and teachers taking part in each mobility could learn how to dance different dances from all he participanting countries. These workshops took place in Romania, Spain and Hungary. Travelling Suitcase and Diary
It is a suitcase travelling across Europe from one country to another containing a wide range of material related to music and traditions from each participating country. It also contains a physical diary in which students kept their impressions, feelings and pictures when opening and enjoying all the materials contained in the suitcase.Maleta viajera y su diario

Our musicians' workshop
Through this workshop students and teachers participating in the meeting in Barcelona could share knowledge about one of the most relevant musicians from each country together with his most important composition. Travelling Suitcase and Diary
It is a suitcase travelling across Europe from one country to another containing a variety of material related to music and traditions from each participating country. It also contains a physical diary in which students kept their impressions, feelings and pictures when opening and enjoying all the materials contained in the suitcase. Each school organized a competition among its students to create a logo for the project. All the Logos were evaluated by school community and 2 of them were taken to the first meeting in Italy. On 20th November 2012, just a few days before first Comenius meeting in Italy, there was an Italian Day organized in our school organized by the Comenius Club. There was a short play in Polish and Italian, a presentation about Italy, Italian music and the partner school, a costume competition. Music in the concentration camps workshop
During the project meeting in Poland a workshop on music in the concentration camps was held. It was prepared by the Comenius Club. The workshop started with a presentation, which explained the specificity of the concentration camps and the music that was played and written there. A Polish composer: Leszek Możdżer - materials for the workshop in Spain
All the students taking part in the project meeting in Spain prepared the materials for the Composers Workshop. On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 an event dedicated to Spain and Catalonia was held. Students in grades 4-6 learned about our partner school Escola Turbula, where a recent project meeting was organized. Final comenius party for local authorities and project participants
The event ending up and summarizing the project was the Farevell Meeting, which took place on June 5 2014 in Our School. It was attended by students, parents, teachers and representatives of the city authorities. The youth presented an interesting multimedia presentation and attractive artistic vocal performances. Food grid was prepared for the first meeting in Italy. It contained pictures as well as the vocabulary in English and in Turkish. Each school organized a competition among its students to create a logo for the project. All the Logos were evaluated by school community and 2 of them were taken to the first meeting in Italy. Team's discussions group
For a better collaboration of our team, outside school and even on weekends it was created a discussion group on Facebook. The Comenius Class was attended by all students involved in the implementation of our project. Comenius Corner is a special space in our school displayed in a visible place, ready to exhibit the materials made during the activities of the project, especially during the transnational mobilities. Visual materials are presented such as flags, pictures of the famous places of the meeting country, words in the language spoken in the partner country, posters. Project's logo
During the first transnational meeting in Italy , there was a common activity for choosing the logo of the project. For this, each delegation has presented two options made by students - in electronic and printed version. All drawings made by the seven delegations were presented and voted by the students and teachers participating at the meeting. During the mobility in Italy we met our partners for the first time and we introduced ourselves to each other. The grid related to the song related to food
In Italy there were some activities connected with the songs. A "multilingual dictionary " was one of them. For this workshop our students have prepared a grid with words taken from the song "Long Live the Bread with Bacon", associated with images and their names in Romanian and English . In Italy, students received seven grids, one per country, and working in multinational groups they have cooperated in filling in the grids by translating the words in all the languages of the partners.Grila referitoare la cântecul despre mâncare

At home to grandma
On December 6th, 2012 our students have participated in the History Museum from Piatra Neamt, at a seminar about customs and traditions connected with winter and Christmas, where they played several traditional carols. The pictures and recordings made on this occasion have been inscribed on a CD and sent to our project partner as a piece of the activity "winter parcel". Winter parcel
The Winter Parcel was a parcel sent by post to the appointed partner school. Our students prepared and sent a parcel to Poland. The contents of the parcel was supposed to make the students more knowledgeable about our country and its traditions connected with winter and Christmas. We received a similar parcel from Turkey. Romanian Team's wiki space
It was created similar to that of the project, to help our students work together in order to create the materials needed for the pop rock music history in Romania during the decades 1950 's to 2000's. Proving to be a useful tool in making materials, this space has been used for the creation, as team work, of others materials for the project. Comenius Antheme - lyrics on tradition and culture
Each country has composed a four lines stanza on a specific topic for the Comenius Anthem. The stanza composed by our students refers to tradition and culture. The stanzas have been completed before the meeting in Turkey, in February 2013, where we worked all together on the chorus. The music was composed by Greek Team and the anthem was sung for the first time in Romania during the first Comenius concert, in June 2013. Fiecare țară a avut de compus o strofă din 4 versuri, pe o anumită temă, pentru Imnul Comenius. Strofa compusă de elevii noștri face referire la tradiție și cultură. Strofele au fost finalizate până la întâlnirea din Turcia din februarie 2013, unde am lucrat îmreună la refren. Muzica a fost compusă de echipa Greciei iar Imnul a fost interpretat pentru prima oară la Concertul Comenius din România din iunie 2013. Spring parcel

Plastic workshops
During the meeting in Romania, in May 2013, there were organised two plastic art workshops - soap carving techniques and painting on canvas and ceramic mugs. During both workshops there were involved the foreign students who, under the guidance of our colleagues, have practiced their skills and artistic talent together with our students. Comenius Concert in Romania
The main activity in Romania was the first Comenius concert which had two dimensions: a national one with traditional Romanian songs and an European one with known pieces from the international repertoire. During the second part, the foreign students sang with our students "Ode to Joy" - the EU Anthem and the Comenius Anthem. The concert was televised and recorded. The mobility in Romania, in May 2013, has completed the activities of the first year of the project. For this reason, the end of the meeting was reserved to a farewell party. Remember the Holocaust!
During the symposium "A Memory Inroad" where was celebrated the poet of Romanian origin, Benjamin Fundoianu / Fondane, a victim of the Nazi regime, the students and the teachers participating in the mobility in Poland have shared to the audience - colleagues, parents, officials - impressions and emotional experiences after the visit at Auschwitz, using the pictures and videos done on the spot. Winter song
From the beginning of November 2013 each team had to prepare to sing live a winter song or a carol received from a partner school. Our students learnt the Catalan carol "Fum, Fum, Fum". It was hard work as all the students had to sing in a language they didn’t know. It wasn't easy with reading and pronunciation , but each country did a great job and learnt the given song. Începând din noiembrie 2013 fiecare echipă a avut de pregătit un cântec de iarnă, un colind, primit de la o anumită școală parteneră. Elevii noștri au învâțat colindul catalan ”Fum, Fum, Fum”. A fost o sarcină dificilă deoarece elevii au avut de cântat într-o limbă pe care n-o știu. Nu a fost ușor cu citirea și pronunțarea cuvintelor, dar fiecare țară a făcut o treabă excelentă și a învățat cântecul. Romanian composer - materials for the workshop in Spain
All the students taking part in the project meeting in Spain prepared the materials for the Composers Workshop. They read about Gheorghe Zamfir, found the most important moments and created a list of key words about his biography and career. Later, they learned how to retell the composer's achievements by using the key words. Toți elevii care au luat parte la întâlnirea de proiect din Spania au pregătit materialele pentru atelierul despre compozitori. Ei au citit biografia lui Gheorghe Zamfir, au găsit cele mai importante momente și au creat o listă de cuvinte cheie despre biografie și carieră. Mai târziu, ei au învățat cum să vorbească despre compozitor pe baza cuvintelor cheie. Romanian traditional dance performance in Barcelona
Students and teachers participating in the project meeting in Spain prepared a traditional Romanian dance, Moldavian Round dance, presented before the audience at the farewell party. Then they attempted to teach the steps to all students , teachers and parents , and then they danced together. Each delegation has done the same with a traditional dance specific to their country. Elevii și profesorii participanți la reuniunea de proiect din Spania a pregătit un dans tradițional românesc, hora moldovenească, care a fost prezentat în fața publicului la petrecere de rămas bun. Apoi, ei au încercat să-i învețe pașii de toți elevii, profesorii și părinții, iar apoi au dansat cu ei încă o dată. Fiecare delegație a făcut același lucru cu un dans tradițional specific țării lor. Photos proposition for the Hungarian exhibition and competition
For this activity students have sent beforehand, to Budapest, 5 photos taken during the project, on two proposed topics: "Memorable Moments" and "What does the Comenius project mean to me?". Our students have made proposals, they chose 5 pictures altogether, for both categories, and gave a title to each of them. All photos sent by all partner schools can be found on the project website - at the "Results" section - click on "Photo Exhibition" icon. Preparing for the ”Comenius' got talent” - the karaoke competition in Budapest
For this competition each team has prepared a song from the 90's-2000's,in their mother tongue, in the karaoke version. Our students have prepared the song "The Old Lady is Dancing" performed by Stefan Banica jr. Inspired by the official video of the song, they went beyond a simple interpretation and made a little show greatly appreciated by the audience. Pentru acest concurs fiecare echipă a pregătit un cântec în limba maternă, în versiune karaoke, din perioada anilor 1990 - 2000. Elevii noștri au pregătit melodia ”Dansează baba” de Ștefan Bănică jr. Inspirați de videoclipul original al piesei ei au mers dincolo de o simplă interpretare și au realizat un mic spectacol foarte apreciat de public. Spring song
The activity , similar to th "Winter Song", students had to sing a song from the folklore of a partner school. Our students have sung in Hungarian - "Két pünkösdrózsa Szalai" - a very popular song in Hungary ,about spring and love. Our song "Rose from Moldavia" was performed by the Catalan Team. Comenius Night
On the 12th of June we held a meeting at our school to present the Odyssey of the two years of the project. We invited parents, fellow teachers and local authorities,other students . We watched the photos together, we sang and we talked about the memories that we will keep in our minds and our souls for long . It was touching to look through the pages of our journal of memories, "Echoes". We hope to meet our partners soon and develop many such great projects in the future.Noaptea Comenius
Pe data de 12 iunie am organizat o întâlnire în școala noastră de a prezenta Odiseea celor doi ani de proiect. Am invitat colegii, ipărinții noștri, profesorii și autoritățile locale. Ne-am uitat la fotografii împreună, am cântat și am vorbit despre amintirile care le vom păstra în minte și în suflet pentru multă vreme. A fost emoționant să răsfoim paginile jurnalului ”Echoes”. Project evaluation
The project meetings were evaluated by direct discussions and questionnaires given to the participants in the mobilities. The coordinator wrote the teams report and sent it to the coordinator of the hosting school . The host prepared the evaluation meeting report and posted it on the project website. At the end of each project year, in our school there were applied questionnaires to the students, teachers and parents with the aim of assessing the results and remediation where necessary.Evaluarea proiectului
Întâlnirile din proiect au fost evaluate pe baza discuții frontale și chestionarelor aplicate participanților la mobilitate. Coordonatorul a întocmit raportul echipei și l-a transmis coordonatorului școlii gazdă. Acesta a întocmit raportul de evaluare al întâlnirii, postat pe site-ul proiectului. By filling in the final report sent to the National Agency but mainly through the evidence presented in this database - European Shared Treasure - we hope that ”Our Voices Across Europe” have been heard and spread to many schools and local communities this wonderful and real story of our project. 10-minute videos where the students presented their country, their region and their school. This video was presented at the first meeting in Italy by the students. Live music on the Beach and in the port of Parga

Arta, town tour in music

In our Comenius project, seven countries took place and we prepared a concert where the students of all countries sang seven songs: one for each country in the original tongue. Workshop music abilities
In our music school, the students are admitted by means of a music competence entrance exam. We made a test that looked like this exam where our guests tested their abilities to recognize Greek music or instruments. At the end they were given a certificate.Εργαστήρι μουσικών ικανοτήτων

Live performance at Bisignano the town of Luthers
Live performances of musicians of Bisignano city, partner of our project activities and where most of lute workshops are found in Calabria,skilled craftsmen Known all over the world like the De Bonis family. Seminar: Folk music between tradition and future
Folk music of South Italy : videos, demo sound to musical styles and topics. Our work has had as its starting point the artistic and music production of ethnomusicologist Eugenio Bennato, the most famous scholar, performer and innovator of the traditional music of southern Italy.
