BROADENING OUR CULTURAL HORIZONS
This project aims at promoting foreign language learning and motivating students to improve their proficiency in English. Through mobilities and cooperation between the partner countries, it will provide cultural awareness, sense of initiative and social abilities to the participants. Participants will be high school students between 16-19 and they are from disadvantaged areas. 10 students from each country will actively attend all phases of the project such as planning, exchanges, implementation of the activities and dissemination. Communication will be mostly carried out through an online social group to be designed for this project. During the project period, firstly the project will be advertised through local media and websites. There will be language preparation courses in each participating country. During the exchanges, there will be dance and handcraft workshops in Romania and song and game workshops in Turkey. On the last day of the exchanges, there will be presentation of the activities in each country. Also, in each country there will be country's nights at which they will present their countries. This activity will be organized as a contest. The guest country students will present their poems in the host country’s language at this night. During exchanges, the host country will organize cultural visits to introduce their country’s different aspects, so contacts will be formed with local community, and prejudices will be eliminated with mutual respect and understanding. After the exchanges there will be a photo exhibition in each country. A DVD and a daily expression handbook in three languages will be prepared and distributed to the local community and organisations and conferences about the project will be given to local community in each country.
KÜLTÜREL UFUKLARIMIZI GENİŞLETMEK
Bu proje öğrencilerin yabancı dil öğrenmelerini teşvik etmek ve İngilizce becerilerini iyileştirmeyi amaçlamıştır. Ortak ülkeyle hareketlilik ve işbirliği yoluyla, katılımcılara, kültürel farkındalık, girişimcilik ve sosyal yetenekler kazandırmıştır. Katılımcılar 16-19 yaşları arasında lise öğrencileri ve dezavantajlı kesimden gelmektedirler. Her ülkeden 10 öğrenci projenin planlama, değişim, aktivitelerin uygulanması aşamalarının hepsinde aktif rol almıştır. İletişim proje için oluşturulacak online grup üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Proje süresince öncelikle proje yerel medya ve web sitesinden duyurulmuştur. Her iki katılımcı ülkede de dil kursları olmuştur. Değişim sırasında, Romanya'da dans ve el işi atölyesi, Türkiye'de şarkı ve oyun atölyesi olmuştur. Değişimlerin son gününde, her ülkede etkinliklerin sunumu olmuştur. Aynı zamanda, her ülkede ülkelerin kültürlerini sunacakları ülke geceleri olmuştur. Bu etkinlik yarışma olarak organize edilmiştir. Misafir ülkenin öğrencileri şiirlerini ev sahibi ülkenin dilinde sunmuşlardır. Bir DVD ve üç dilli bir günlük ifadeler kitabı hazırlanmış ve yerel halka ve kuruluşlara dağıtılacaktır ve her iki ülkedeki yerel halka proje ile ilgili konferans verilmiştir.
LĂRGIREA ORIZONTURILOR NOASTRE CULTURALE
Acest proiect își propune să promoveze învățarea limbilor străine și să motiveze elevii pentru a-și îmbunătăți competențele în limba engleză. Prin mobilități și cooperare între țările partenere, se vor oferi conștientizare culturală, spirit de inițiativă și abilități sociale pentru participanți. Participanții vor fi elevi de liceu cu vârste între 16-19 ani și sunt din zone defavorizate. 10 elevi din fiecare țară vor participa în mod activ toate fazele proiectului, cum ar fi planificarea, schimburi, punerea în aplicare a activităților și diseminare. Comunicarea va fi realizată în mare parte prin intermediul unui grup social on-line ce va fi conceput pentru acest proiect. În timpul perioadei de proiect, în primul rând, proiectul va fi promovat prin intermediul mass-media locale și site-uri web. Vor fi cursuri de pregătire lingvistică în fiecare țară participantă. În timpul schimburilor, vor fi ateliere de dans și meșteșuguri în România și ateliere de cântec și joc în Turcia. În ultima zi a schimburilor, vor fi prezentate activitățile din fiecare țară. De asemenea, în fiecare țară vor fi seri cu specificul țării la care se vor prezenta țările. Această activitate va fi organizată ca un concurs. Elevii oaspeți în țara respectivă își vor prezenta poeziile în limba țării-gazdă în noaptea aceasta. În timpul schimburilor, țara gazdă va organiza vizite culturale pentru a prezenta aspecte diferite ale țării, astfel vor fi formate contactele în comunitatea locală, și prejudecățile vor fi eliminate prin respect și înțelegere reciprocă. După schimburi va fi o expoziție de fotografii din fiecare țară. Un DVD și un manual cu expresii de zi cu zi în trei limbi vor fi pregătite și distribuite în comunitate și organizații și conferințe legate de proiect vor fi organizate în comunitatea locală în fiecare țară.

The idea of the activity was derived from the acrostics work. The phrases and words used were chosen related to the project; the project name(Broadening Our Cultural Horizons) and the participating country names (Turkey, Romania) were adopted for the activity. Bu aktivitenin fikri akroştiş çalışmalarından esinlenmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan sözcük grupları ve kelimeler proje ile ilgili olanlardan alınmıştır; proje adı (Broadening Our Cultural Horizons) ve katılımcı ülke isimleri (Turkey, Romania) bu çalışmada kullanılmıştır. Ideea pentru activitate a derivat din lucrul cu acrostihurile. Expresiile și cuvintele folosite au fost alese să fie legate de proiect, denumirea (lărgirea orizonturilor noastre culturale) și numele țării participante (Turcia, România), au fost adoptate pentru activitate. DAILY CONVERSATION BROCHURE
This trilingual daily speaking brochure is aimed to be product of project. The main goal is to overcome the difficulties faced in daily life especially for people who don't have any command in a foreign language. Therefore, since this project is between Turkey and Romania, and the working language is English these three languages were included in the brochure. Bu üç dilli konuşma broşürü bu projenin bir ürünü olması amaçlanmıştır. Bu yüzden, proje Romanya ve Türkiye arasında olduğundan ve çalışma dilinin İngilizce olmasından dolayı bu üç dil broşüre dahil edildi. EVALUATION SURVEY
After all the project activities were completed, a general Project evaluation survey was prepared as planned. The survey consists of ten items that are aimed to determine the how much the project aims were fulfilled. The survey was put on the project's facebook group and was applied by e-mail and on paper for the ones not doing it online.DEĞERLENDİRME ANKETİ

După ce au fost finalizate toate activitățile de proiect, un studiu general de evaluare a proiectului a fost elaborat conform planului. TRADITIONAL TURKISH FOOD COOKING WORKSHOP
Participants learned about Turkish traditional dishes by having hands on experience. The dishes they prepared were "Kuru biber/patlıcan dolması" (stuffed dried peppers and aubergine), "İncir tatlısı" (Dried fig desert), "Mantı"(little pieces of paste with meat init, which is boiled in water and served with yoghurt and tomato sauce on it), "Sarma" (stuffed grape leaves) which is known as "sarmale" in Romania, ın the end all the project participants tasted the meals.GELENEKSEL TÜRK YEMEKLERİ ATÖLYESİ
Katılımcılar geleneksel Türk yemeklerini kendileri yaparak öğrendiler. Yapılan yemekler; kuru biber ve patlıcan dolması, incir tatlısı, mantı ve Romanya'da sarmale olarak bilinen sarmaydı. TURKISH COURSE MATERIALS
This course consists of three components: a booklet about (41 pages), video recording and audio recordings. The booklet consists of 12 units about simple subjects like introductions, numbers, hobbies and so on. The lessons give Turkish and English meaning of phrases and have exercises at the end of each unit. There are video and audio recordings of the dialogues in the booklet.
