    MOtivation: the Key to success in Adult education

    Adult education is a creative force of social life, which leads to satisfy individual and collective needs, raises general and professional culture of society and influences the development of conditions of human existence. One of needs of every individual is a will to be better and better every day. Lifelong learning plays the important role in contemporary world, especially in current economic situation on the labour market in Europe. Important factor that influences on people, their willingness to learn, is motivation, which plays the key role in encouraging adults to learn and develop. Motivation is the driving force which leads us to achieve goals. Unlike children and teenagers, adults have many responsibilities that they must balance against the demands of learning. During project’s implementation we tied to find responses to the following questions: What personal barriers/obstacles keep adult persons from undertaking further education? Why do people resign from educational activities? What factors motivate them to learn? What obstacles discourage people from training? What is the role of teacher? How to maintain adult learners’ active participation and interest in trainings? Key aim of this project was to develop effective methods of increasing and maintaining motivation of adults to acquire skills and knowledge. For this goal we had four partner meetings during which we focused on several parts of this topic. Between the partner meetings we did local research and study visits to gain the needed extra information. From the very beginning of the project implementation, partner organizations organized study visits at local level and this allowed the consortium to count on associated partners that have been fundamental for the development of project objectives. Acronym of the project is MOKA that refers to moka pot - stove top coffee maker in which we brew coffee. By this acronym we would have liked to underline the importance of motivation in adult learning
