TO BE PRESERVED FOR POSTERITY - EUROPEAN LEGACY

The "EUROPESCO" project fulfilled the function of a many-sided exploration of places of outstanding beauty, of cultural, historical and scientific significance, especially protected and owned by all people, regardless of nationality and inscribed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list. Visiting those places made it possible to explore regions and places in individual countries which are special and unique. Participation in the project activities made both the students and the teachers aware of the great importance such places have for future generations and of how essential it is for them to be protected and respected. They constitute the achievements of mankind since the beginning of its existence. In this way, students not only became more knowledgeable about this kind of places in their own country but also in the partners’ countries. They gained knowledge about the European heritage, deepening knowledge of other countries. The schools worked together, cooperating with some institutions supporting them and with local businesses, which contributed to improving the quality of work and learning outcomes in school. Working in the framework of the project enabled, through the development of methods and tools, to build a database of materials for use in various schools and institutions.
