Energy-efficient building is a central theme of building technology in modern times. The need to save energy and raw material resources and thus CO2 emissions are public as well as political interests of many European countries. The development of energy efficient building constructions for new buildings on the one hand, and the renovation of existing buildings on the other hand, are funded by legal rules and financial incentives in a number of European countries. For the project, the participants agreed on planning/selecting exemplary energy efficient building components and details which will be put into practice in a second step. Here, also employees of construction companies are seen to be actively involved. The project’s aim is to transfer the achieved novel and future-oriented work results into the apprenticeship curriculums for building tradesmen. The project is going to start in 9/2011 in Germany; here a meeting of teachers and employees of construction companies is intended, in order to prepare the topic on "developing exemplary components and details for energy efficient buildings." This first topic will be carried out with apprentices in Germany in 3/2012. After that, a preparatory meeting is going to take place in Norway on the second topic “renovation of old buildings in terms of sustainability and diminished energy consumption" in 6/2012, followed by the implementing meeting with apprentices in 9/2012. Then, the preparation of the third topic "air-tight building envelopes in the construction of prefabricated elements” is scheduled for 11/2012 in Denmark, whereas the implementation will beginn in 4/2013. The projekt is going to end with an evaluation of the joint work and an outlook on future cooperation.
