    “EUROPEAN CASTLES”

    The project “European Castles” aims to encourage the school and local communities from each partner’s country to adopt a tolerant and open-minded attitude towards the cultural diversity, a phenomenon more and more present in the European societies and cultures, induced by the major changes of globalization . To accomplish this reference objective, during the first year of project running, each of the participant schools forms mixed teams (students and teachers of different objects) who sets up portfolios gathering historical, geographical, cultural (architecture, painting, sculpture), ethnographic and folkloric data regarding a national castle and the area it is placed. During the project second year, students from the working teams will gather the portfolios in a common booklet doing also a digital version (on CD/ DVD) containing short documentary films about the places they visited. Teachers involved in the working teams will select from the portfolios the contents / topics and will settle the learning – teaching – evaluation methods necessary for an optional curricula course book. Both the course book and a website will be the project final products.

  • "CASTLES" PORFOLIOS

    For each of the castles presented and the area it is placed in, a portfolio was set up gathering historical, geographical, cultural (architecture, painting, sculpture), ethnographic and folkloric data. The pictures of the castles or of the zone were mostly taken by the students during their documentary visits, or selected by them from various albums or photo galleries. The portfolios also contain short documentary films and interviews taken and edited by the students.
