    Trainers' Keys for Key Competences

The purpose of the project is to enhance the trainers and teachers’ skills in the field of training key competences, with special emphasis on working with multicultural and multinational (migrant) groups. Two main competences in the focus of our project are: social inclusion and cultural awareness and expression, which are on the list of 8 key competences indicated by the European Parliament in Dec. 2006. Integration into civic society and the workforce requires more than knowledge of the host language. Social, civic, cultural awareness and expression should not be separate to teaching language, basic skills or workplace skills but should be integrated into said subject. Trainers need to be able to assimilate these key competences into their pedagogical approach and course content. The project will identify and define the competences needed for trainers to equip them to meet the demographical challenges of a changing Europe and the interconnected world. Several mobilities are planned in order to allow the trainers/teachers and the staff involved in the project to exchange their experience with partners from other countries directly in the foreign context, learning also about the culture and nature of the countries that are host countries for migrants.
