    Core Skill Sellf Esteem Development

The European Partners of the present project have created specific training design in view of the competence development of workers and job seekers suffering from lack of basic knowledge, particularly as regards reading, writing skills and numeracy skills. The approach has to tackle stigmatisation and overcome taboos connected to illiteracy, numeracy or lack of basic competence. In Lower Normandy GRETAS have set up a specific training scheme with a two fold objective: support workers in gaining competence both in typical concrete industrial topics as well as suitable basic skills. Learning is based on seizing the opportunity of the treatment of security, communication, quality process, productivity topics to develop these skills. Moreover, distance learning tools regarding basic skills are currently being created. The approach is based on the individual rehabilitation regarding core skills via the use of ICT, which proves to be a very effective way to enhance social and professional self-confidence. Similar tools are used in favour of job seekers, particularly immigrants who lack basic knowledge to integrate the work market in other regions of Europe. The present project would then be to exchange between European partners on processes implemented in the context of the methods of supporting beneficiaries in core skills including access to digital tools, personal and social development, for the social and vocational integration of job seekers, the support of fragile work force, particularly discriminated adults and young people, in order to study tools, analyse and assess them to define a common methodology.

  • Flyer promoting the advantage of core skill training

The flyer was created by pooling the expertise of Mosqi. To, expert in interactive marketing, Anniesland College and the GRETA Sud Normandie, as an example of possible ways to promote training and convince employers to implement core skill courses for their employees. The concrete purpose of our work was to raise awareness on the issue from an economical and social point of view. The flyer is in French and can be seen as a template for a training organisation to promote our approach.
