    PEACE ACTS

"Peace Acts" aims to build a network for the exchange of knowledge about peace plays in different theatre techniques and productions. The objective of "Peace Acts" is to initiate a reflection process on ideas of peace plays and to develop plays about famous peace activists like Bertha von Suttner and others. The project partners all have a mutual interest in the peace movement and are engaged in peace activities. First we will share our prevailing experiences and our personal knowledge, comparing experiences and producing a common basis for further steps. Secondly we want to develop ideas on theatre productions presenting significant personalities of the peace movement and demonstrating different perspectives and ideas about peace by using modern theatre techniques. We want to emphasize the involvement of audiences – preferably young audiences – in the performances, hence activating their creativity. Peace, in our definition is more than the absence of war. We want to motivate young people to develop creative ways of individually different approaches towards new understanding of peace. "Peace Acts" is a startingproject for a future network on "European Peace Matters", preparing numerous peace events and activities counterbalancing the forseeable abundance of First World War mementos in the anniversary year 2014.

  • Improvisational Theatre for Peace Matters

The results of our work proved that peace presentations could be combining body awareness and body work with exercises for communication-competence to handle conflicts without violence in a way of transforming energy into self consciousness and empowerment. The great success of our performances at different audiences proved that it is possible (and necessary) to present the subject peace on a not academic level and to work on transforming the rational idea into sensual awareness.
