The students' world is marked be fast changes caused by international communication and mobility, but also by security and closeness of home. We will document the mobility of our students and their families. Their mobility of a day, a year, a lifetime will be visualized. The physical dimension of mobility, defined by the students' background, their travelling activities, and their living habits, is to be recorded with the help of inter-active maps. In this way, `home´ can be experienced dynamically and provides for a more complex indentification with one's own origins. The study of one's roots will enable the students to gain a better understanding of their selves. The confrontation with a broader definition of home which includes migration and intercultural competence will help to recognize prejudices and to accept the cultural variety of Europe as a value (Motto: Europe in Motion) The integrated study of mobility and home will be carried out in a practical project work, emphasizing -> inter-cultural, --> technological, and ---> ecological foci beyond everyday schooling. -> Students, and teachers alike, will study their own `multi-cultural´ roots and re-assess the importance of former contacts with foreign countries and cultures. The results will be presented on exhibitions and discussed during project meetings. --> GIS, CAD, and GPS will be used, in many schools for the first time ever, to produce inter-active `mobility maps´ to document the participants´ curricula. Also, the use of communication platforms (eTwinning, Fronter), weblogs, and podcasts are to be mastered and applied according to aims. Regular Open lessons and video conferences will form the basis of the school network. ---> The effects of mobility in connection with consumption, good traffic, and leisure activities, on the environment are to be researched by the partner schools in their regions. Students will organize `sustainability rallies´ to innovative places as well as to trouble spots.
